Worthwhile is a purchase-cost and replacement-planning app. This page explains the information the current app uses and the controls available to you.

Information you provide

When you register, you provide your name, email address, and password through Firebase Authentication. Your profile name and email are used to identify your account. Worthwhile uses Firebase to handle authentication; passwords are not included in purchase records.

Your collection may contain item names, prices, currencies, purchase and replacement dates, usage counts, maintenance costs, resale amounts, and the savings figures you enter. Savings are manually entered planning figures. Worthwhile does not hold your money or connect to your bank.

Storage and service providers

Firebase Authentication manages accounts and verification/reset emails. Cloud Firestore stores your collection and currency preference. The website is hosted with ChatGPT Sites. These services process information needed to operate the app and may process technical request information under their own policies.

Purchase records are stored in your account. The app does not offer guest storage. Firebase may store authentication session information in your browser so you can stay signed in. Clearing your collection does not delete your account or authentication session.

Use and access

Your information is used to provide sign-in, display your collection, calculate costs, and save your changes. Collection access is restricted to your authenticated account by database rules. As the service operator, we may need administrative access to investigate support issues and fulfill deletion requests.

Retention and deletion

Account and collection information remains stored until you clear your collection or request account deletion. Clearing data in your profile removes purchases and plans while keeping your account and preference. To request deletion of your account and associated collection, contact support from your registered email address. We may verify account ownership before acting. Provider backups or operational logs may remain subject to provider retention processes.
